YOGA
At Lotus Spirit, we offer Universal Yoga, a multidimensional and deeply integrative system developed by Guruji Andrey Lappa. Rooted in classical yogic philosophy, Universal Yoga draws from the full spectrum of practice—asana, vinyasa, pranayama, mantra, meditation, and visualization—to bring balance to all layers of the self: physical, energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
A typical class is thoughtfully sequenced to engage the body, breath, and mind—the three primary threads of yoga practice. Through creative and intelligent use of posture, movement, and breath, you’ll move through all major ranges of motion in the spine and limbs, often using mat rotations and symmetrical balancing techniques to influence both structure and subtle awareness.
The goal of Universal Yoga is not merely physical conditioning—it is inner transformation. Each sequence is designed to train concentration, focus, and inward attention, creating a stable and serene internal space that supports self-exploration, personal development, and ultimately, transcendence.
The Universal Yoga system has been designed to create a well-developed state of balance by conditioning each of the mayakoshas (the yogic understanding of our subtle body sheaths). Balance across all seven mayakoshas is one of the primary aims of Universal Yoga. Universal Yoga guides the practitioner through increasingly subtle layers of being, helping to dissolve habitual patterns and awaken inner freedom. It is a powerful path of balance, presence, and spiritual evolution.
UNIVERSAL YOGA
AT LOTUS SPIRIT
CLASSES ARE OF VARIOUS SUB-STYLES THAT ALIGN WITH UNIVERSAL YOGA PRINCIPLES.

STATIC STRENGTHENING AND STRETCHING
This practice is fundamental as it helps build strength, balance and flexibility – asanas are held for 30-60 seconds each. Learn how to move in and out of postures with grace and control, how to stay in postures to build muscle endurance and focus, how to use your breath to link body and mind. Modifications and intensifications are offered.
DYNAMIC STRENGTHENING AND STRETCHING
Move through asanas with a flowing energy connecting body with breath. Postures are held only briefly as you gracefully move from one form to another. This class builds cardiovascular endurance, strength and balance.
DEEP STRETCH
Move major muscles and joints in all ranges of motion for a full body stretch. Connect body and breath through static stretching, release stress and bring an overall state of well-being.
